Would these be too taxing if done in the same style as depletion pushups? You probably wouldn’t do both on the same day.
I’m not sure whether it is best to use on the same day as push ups, but I find them very taxing done to completion. I actually don’t include them anymore.
Do you use narrow/normal grip or wide grip? The problem I have with pull ups, especially narrow/normal grip, is that the elbow flexors (biceps etc.) tire first, so I use a machine which isolates my shoulder extensors. The shoulder extensors are far more important in sprinting and the 2 muscle groups don’t work together in sprinting anyway.
Thanks for the reply Richard. I think I use a shoulder-width grip. So, unless someone else replies and strongly cautions me not to do them, I think I’m going to slowly experiment with them, sometimes doing them instead of depletion pushups and if I find like you did that they are very taxing I will stop. Maybe I’ll go a tiny bit wider too.
