DB Hammer critques Crawford

I am surprised that anyone takes this “guy” seriously.

i just think that the better coach is the one that makes it AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE. why use all this complicated language when things could be said in a much simpler and easier way. i know for a fact it doesnt make u any smarter. i just dont get it really!

Christian Thibideua I know I didnt spell his name correctly but his stuff is nice and simply put.

The simpler my training gets, the better the results. That has been the one deffinate in my 17 years of training experiance.

I fully agree. SC was trying to hard to intimidate the other runners, Powell and Greene were both playing mind games with each other but Powell ran to hard in the heats. So Gatlin flew in under the radar and won running the best race he could have ran. Maurice Greene ran his best race without getting phased in 100 except he didn’t have a great reaction time out of the blocks I believe it was .150 or something like that, and when you take off .050 say for a perfect start which Greene is capable of he still would have finished second at best (and with a lean).

The fact that SC didn’t even place in the top 3 must ringing in his head every day since the Olympics. I guarantee you he will not make that same mistake again at the next Olympics!

0.15 a bad start? Don’t know what your smoking but Mo’s 0.151 was the fastest start in the final.

I do think that both SC and Powell tightened up under preassure. I recon Crawford blew a 19.6 high in the 200 for the same reason.

For Mo it is unacceptable to him as Ben Johnson’s start would be if it was the same under those conditions. 0.151 is a great start for most people but people like Mo and Ben they expect to be perfect or near that when the run the most important race for a 4 year period. I honestly think his average reaction time in all the races that preceded the olympics in that 4 year period had a lower mean time.

As for Powell you can see him tightening up like Desai did when both men ran these Olympic finals in athens and in Seoul.

Greene actually had the quickest reaction. Gatlin had the slowest. Greene rarely ever has a blazing reaction time. He has the best clearance of anyone. Which is what gatlin experienced in that race. His reaction was the slowest(.188) but he was out with everyone. If he had a .15 - .16 reaction time he would have run 9.82 And thats what he usually has for a reaction time.
