Core Movements and their Regressions

I started this topic in a previous thread and the response between David W and Chris T was thought provoking but did not answer my question.

I know there has been a previous thread regarding Core movements. In contact sports injuries often don’t allow athletes to perform certain movements.

What I would like to know is what would be the five main exercises you would use and for each list two regressions
eg Dips -> Lying BB Tricep Ext -> Tricep Pushdown
(I know Dips probably wouldn’t feature in the top 5 exercises)

Strength and Conditioning Coaches often have to adapt programs according to the individual

With you being an expert in Rugby Gilman,…what injuires are you speaking of? Perhaps that could clear the air a bit.
