Charlie-Ben's maintenance

Charlie, a quick question:

if its suggusted that people generally go for 3 sets of 3reps for maintenance weight (and drop as they go) what was your reasoning for getting Ben to do 6 reps at this stage of the season?

That would be more of the strength phase work. In 1988 after the injury, Ben wasn’t squating very deep so it was hard to give him much of a challenge without a higher weight than he had worked with before- which seemed like a bad idea- so hgher numbers were used in the maintenance phase.

what sort of weights was ben logging in his parallel squats for Pbs and maintenance (if you dont mind me asking)?

Two sets of 6 at 600 in the squat to parallel.
