CFTS Periodisation Model

I am interested in any information which may help me to understand the periodised annual plan model presented by Charlie in CFTS pg 115 [ebook]. I am familiar with various periodisation presentation formats but, have not seen this style before.

My specific questions are:

  1. What do the isosceles triangles above the training blocks represent?

  2. How are the heights of the training blocks related to a magnitude or density of training without a corresponding scale?

  3. How are competition peaks prescribed at appropriate phases given that the peaking graphs do not correspond to the timeline?

I guess my real difficulty is turning this plan into meso/micro cycles & session plans. Any help or direction to readings would be much appreciated.
