Thanks, the 100 finals are supposed to be at like 12:30 or something and 200 is just before them. I won’t be able to eat in between cause they’re too close but whatever, everyone who’s in the 100 is in the 200. If you’re there be 3 you’ll probably be in time for relay but my team will suck.
Btw I just checked the paper, congrats on your 1st and 2nd place finishes.
Day 2
Damn I was stiff today, if I make OFSAA I’ll have to remember to have a cold bath and then a hot shower to unstiffen my muscles after competition. The conditions were pretty nice today, in the morning it was cold but it heated up just in time for my first race, the wind wasn’t a factor today.
The 200 meter finals was the first race of the day and I wasn’t interested in running it before the 100 but all the same sprinters were in both. I ran a pretty good race but slowed down at the end because of stiffness. I ran a 24.10 and won by about half a second. I missed beating our team’s best sprinter by 0.01 seconds.
The 100 meter finals was the 2nd race of the day for me and turned out to be about 30 minutes after the 200. I was still stiff for this race but managed to pull out a PB of 11.80 and win the race by 0.26 seconds. Also my semi-final time I now knew was 11.85
The relay was terrible, my team sucked and I sucked. I was so tired going into this race that I could barely gain any ground on the 5th place sprinter in the 100. Our team still finished 7th meaning, yipee, 5 races for me next Thursday…
It wasn’t a bad day overall, I know on a good day I can run the 200 sub 24 now, which is a real surprise for me based on how I ran last year. I still haven’t peaked in the 100 yet but I’m sure my goal of 11.4 is going to be a little out of reach. I still believe I will crack 11.6 legitimately at some point.
Btw I got interviewed by a guy for the Ottawa Citizen after my 100 meter race so maybe there’ll be an article on me
Your goal of 11.4 may not be completely out of reach. Last year I started my season with an 11.8 and by the end of the season I ran 11.50.
I’m looking forward to seeing you crack 11.6.
Well that’s good to hear. I always seem to put high standards on myself though, next year I plan to train year round and if I’m not running sub 11 I’m not gona be satisfied.
Looks like I’m not in the paper, some girl who won 2 events and came 2nd in 2 others was. They also had a picture of 2 guys that I beat. I’ll just have to make the paper after I win OFSAA
Here’s where the results from Ottawa should be posted. They have the East up right now and should get the West up in a day or 2.

…frown I was expecting far better from the city regions.
(I mean no offense by my comment)
I find that our track runs slower then most tracks and usually has a wind in our face. Also, I don’t know about Midgets but in all my races the West is more competitive. There’s a midget sprinter in the west that ran 11.83, it was wind assisted but still quite impressive.
11.83? hmmm…
Well not too long ago, a midget apparently came very close to breaking the 10 second mark over here in the South-West side of Ontario. I don’t knwo if this is true but I ahve seen some VERY potential sprinters from over here.
I don’t think any high school runner let alone midget has ever ligitematly broken 10 seconds. I’d give you 11 seconds cause there were some illegitimate near 11 flat times last year for midget. The same guys who run those times end up running like 11.8 at OFSAA though so a lot of those times are off.
oops. sorry bout that. I meant break 11.
hehe
I guess my brain wasn’t functioning to great after 2 horus of writing a stupid essay
There was a guy named Tyrone Halstead from Mississauga that ran 11-flat last year and 22.84, he was 15.
That must be the guy who ran like 11.4 into the wind at OFSAA.
Yup, that’d be him. He should be nuts this year.
Yep, should be able to beat me by about 1 second.

Where are all of the Senior times?
That is weird, it gets cut off at Junior long jump. The weird thing is it used to be on but now it’s not, probably problems with the site.
