There’s a meet that he took place posted on that WECCSAA(however it is spelt) site, he ran a 21.9 this year

lol, no way. Is his 100m time listed?

Woooppps 22.21, I looked at it too quickly, the guy below him ran a 22.9 so it looked like 21.9 anyways that’s still incredibly good. I feel like an idiot for reading wrong though  . He ran like a 23.9 in the prelims but I’m assumign he just jogged that. They didn’t run 100s at that competition.

Status Update

Feeling more prepared today for tomorow then I did last week. Shin splints were acting up this morning but I’m gona ice them down tonight. I’ll be resting completely and hopefully I’ll be able to solve my block problems cause I will not be satisfied if I don’t run below 11.7 in the 100 and below 24 in the 200. Good luck tomorow Jordan.

Good luck to you too. Tear it up man.
P.S: That 21.9 scared me, lol…but 22.21 is still very fast for that age…sigh

Yo Jeremy, good runs today. Mine didn’t go so well, but at least I qualified!

Alright, today was a very disapointing day for me in the 100 meter but I did fine in the 200.

I ran an 11.88 in qualifying but had a horrible start and picked it all up at the end. I thought I’d be able to cruise to a win in the event today but John Touch ran an 11.90 in that heat so I had competition.

Then in the finals I tried new block settings and new socks. The socks were fucked and got drenched with sweat and didn’t feel comfortable at all. I had a bad start and was a good 3-5 meters back off the start, gained some ground into about 2nd place at about the 70 meter mark and then lost it at the finished and got passed to finish in 4th with a time of 11.92, the winner ran 11.74 and was the guy that beat me out of OFSAA last year.

The 200 heat I was a little tired coming into but I knew I just needed to get a race in and qualify. I won my heat even though I was in lane 8, it was good having Colin in lane 7 cause I could hear him breathing hard behind me and he pushed me to run harder, I ran a 24.54 and was 2nd overall

The 200 final was my best race of the day easily. I felt pretty good going in and ran a great race. I flew by the guy who qualified 1st overall on the corner and ran it pretty hard and was in a comfortable first coming off the bend. Again I had Colin pushing me from the inside lane and I ran to a 24.02 coming close to my goal of breaking 24.

In the Relay we came 2nd in our heat, it was a bad heat but I think we still qualified. I had to run against that crazy midget that ran 11.66 without blocks and I think I looked good, it didn’t seem like he gained any ground on me, too bad he got the baton like 5 meters ahead.

I was really disapointed about the 100 cause I know a good race and I should have won but I qualified for next week and I’ll just have to run better then. My 200 meter looks good and right now seems to be my best shot at making OFSAA.

By the way I thought you ran good today Jordan, you looked strong in the 100 qualifyers and did well considering the competition in the 200, with Todd Pyper and that other guy that run consistent 22s.

I also got a medal today for being 2nd overall Junior boys athlete from the West Cities. I don’t mind taking 2nd place to Ben Engall though, he’s insane. Also I was talking to Andrew, maybe I’ll be back at Lions on Saturday

Alright, today Andrew helped me pretty good with my start and when using the broken blocks without a front plate that digs into the ground I pushed them back so at least I’m getting a push with my start. Things are looking better in the 100 meter for Thursday now.

Results from Thursday are now up on fatdog

Thanks. Thanks for the compliments on my semi-finals too.

I took another glance at that site.
Once again, the west beats the east for hurdles(midget level of course)(I got 6-7th at WOSSAA and my time was 16.47FAT - your 1st is 16.6x)
However, that 11.66 run by the midget guy is very interesting. Looks like the 100m race will be a HUGE race. about 4 guys capable of 11.5-11.7 in from the west.
Was this meet timed in electric or hand?

Pretty sure it’s electric but looking back at those relay times our team was like 5 meters behind a team that finished a second and a half ahead so I’m wondering what was going on there.

That midget who runs 11.66 doesn’t use blocks, runs from side to side and wears middle distance spikes. He has potential to be a great sprinter if someone teaches him how to run.

I’ll be damned. I hate when crap like that happens. Why is it always the wierd ones that run fast?
Oh well. Screw that. Gotta start plnnin for my huge comeback next year. Watch out for me at OFSAA next year.

i hate this about our province, you should have to make a certain standard throughout the season to get the next level because some regions produce a lot of crap coming into ofsaa…im gunna be jumping against guys who jump 2 meters less in the triple jump than me…

Today is a nice relaxing day at home for me, thank you Janitor strike. The strike ended this morning though so back to school Friday :frowning: .

Tomorow I have the 100 heats and finals I think both before the 200 and I’m feeling a lot more comfortable coming into the 100 this week then last. My blocks have been changed for the better and I have enough confidence to say with a little wind at my back and a good race I’m capable of running 11.5

In the 200 I’m running against a guy who supposedly can run a 23.1 so I’ll be in tough. If I run my race I should be able to come in 2nd or 3rd and qualify for OFSAA but that would be a distant 2nd or 3rd. My goal will be 23.8

Overall the 200 is my safer bet to make OFSAA then the 100 just cause there’s too much competition in the 100 but if I run my best race I think I have a chance to even win the 100, if I run my race that I have for the past 2 weeks I should come in 2nd.

Good luck tomorow Jordan

Wow, what a disapointing day for me, nothing came together. Every race there was a huge wind in my face but that’s no excuse for my terrible times.

In the 100 heats I ran decently, I was moving from side to side in my lane but still finished 2nd in my heat with a disapointing time of 12.08 but that was like .1 off 1st place so I wasn’t complaining yet.

In the 100 finals I just completely fucked up. The same way I lost last year, I was 1st/2nd at the 50 meter mark neck in neck with the guy who finished first but I tried to force myself too much tightened up and lost all my speed, ended up in 7th and was really pissed off, I ran a 12.24 for fuck’s sake.

The 200 heats I drew the lane right outside one of the fastest 200 runners in the province and as soon as he hit the straight away he blew by me, it wasn’t even close, he won the heat by 1 second and I ran 24.29 which I didn’t have a problem with conisdering the wind and that it was prelims, plus I had farted at least 30 times in that race for some reason :o

The 200 finals I ran a pretty bad race. The wind was still in our face but I had the momentum to nudge below 24 seconds after coming 3rd overall in prelims. I thought I could come 3rd in the finals comfortably but fell apart between 150 and 200 meter mark and fell from a comfortable 3rd to 4th and qualified for OFSAA in the 200.

It was a very disapointing day for me, I ran one race half decently and the rest all sucked, if I ran my best race I know I could have won that 100 final but I can’t relax under pressure and always blow it.

Congrats on winning the 100 Jordan, you owned that race. A solid 200 meter too, good luck at OFSAA.

Wow, Tyrone Halstead ran 10.85 in the 100 meter, losing by 1 second in the 200 is one thing, at least that doesn’t need to happen in the 100.

Don’t worry about it Jeremy, we’ll both get a second chance in the 200m at OFSAA. Wow…10.85, not too shabby for a junior. P.S: At least you don’t have to run against Justyn Warner in the 100 & 200, 10.62 was what he ran in the 100m LAST year…gulp

Damn that’ll be tough. I’m aiming for 15th, in OFSAA I think my best race of the year can get me there. I’ll hope for the best, I’ll probably come in seeded with one of or the worst time but I don’t care, our track is always slow.

Felt terrible at practice today. I was getting beaten by guys I usually can beat and just didn’t feel in the groove. Hopefully things will improve for Saturday. Still waiting for the OFSAA Heats to get posted, it’s taking a pretty long time.

There’s a page of OFSAA rankings going in. Looks like I’m ranked 22nd going into the 200  I could care less, my PB would put me at 16th and since I was running into a big wind I will probably run a lower time. Funny thing is my 100 meter PB would put me in 9th
