big results in small time frame

hey im 17yrs old and have just had our annual interschool athletics carnival, which goes onto the regionals then to state. i have made state each year but this year i suffered injury at our school carnival about 4-5weeks ago(torn hamstring) and was forced to do little training leading up to our interschool. the 100metres was always my main event but it held the most risk for retearing it if it wasnt fully repaired so i ran a 1500m before to make sure it was fully warmed up. i then had my 100m 30mins which i ran 12.03, about 4 tenths bellow the qualifying my pb is 11.64, i now have about 3-4weeks to get back to my best to make our regional squad to go to states, after having this break due to injury, what training would you reccomend i do to gain the best results in a few weeks time, any feedback would be helpful please

you need to strengthen your hamstring. Then start stretching it and getting the full range of motion back.

also what were the conditions like in the 12s run compaired to your pb run of 11.64?

no idea for such a short time. perhaps stave off the max speed by doing hard hill work instead, plenty of tempo in betweeen days, med ball work.
try the 6 P’s

try the 6 p’s for next yr.

i feel i already have full range of movement back but will still continue strengthening it all the same, but i meant more so but would be the best training to do to get back form quickly, the conditions differed that for the pb i had not done a 1500m b4 and it was like late afternoon the 12’s i had and it was like middle of the day,

what was the wind for each run, that makes a big difference. If I did a 1500m before a 100m i know I would be slower from doing it. Depends on how hard you did the 1500m as well.

If you have a coach he/she should know what to do. But I gotta emphasise strengthen the hamstring back up.

The definitive hamstring thread

Shouldn’t this be the other way around?
