Best type of cream?

What is the best stuff to put on sore muscles to aid in recovery?

I have heard Tiger Balm, Sportscreme, and Icy Hot all work good and have tried all, but have mixed results. Is there a best?

I’m not sore now, but I will be later, I know it. Thanks.

My personal favorite is called Equitite. It is a horse liniment, and it provides me with enough heat to help with warmups and to aid in soreness.

For those seeking hotter liniments, I’d either go with Equiblock, another horse liniment or Capsicum HP, which you can get OTC at almost any store. The Equiblock probably lasts a bit longer (you can feel it the next day when you get into a hot shower). The Capsicum HP is very, very hot. I almost had to wash it off the first time I tried it. The Equiblock, I found, was very good to use on knees and elbows.

The Equitite and Equiblock are kind of hard to find locally, I usually order them online when I need them. The Capsicum HP is easy to find almost anywhere in the US.

Creams containing capsicum often exacerbate sore muscles. If they are going to work at all, you need to use them on a consistent basis for some time. The best cream to use is one containing hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid) which acts as an anti inflammatory in muscle. There is a cream called DRL100 which contains hyaluronic acid which will penetrate the skin and reach the sore muscle fibers when rubbed in well.
A lot of people swear by the stuff in taking their pain right away.
