Ben-Squats

It is well known that Ben was a phenomenally strong athlete who squattted in excess of 600 pounds for reps. What I’m wondering is: what kind of strength progressions occurred for Ben? Are thes consistent with other elite athletes. And, during this time were these changes largely correlated with his rapid growth spurt or conversely, were his speed progressions largely influenced by his strength gains (along with, of course, the work that was consistently being done on the track)? I remember having read in speed trap that Carl Lewis put on what appeared to be 20-25 pounds of muscle between his senior and freshmen (collegiate) year-when he also underwent significant improvement.
