With Tristan Thomas also having gone below 46s this season, Milburn will be lucky to make it into the relay at Worlds. Does anyone have any insights into his bad form this year?

Sickness …

Milburn has been named as one of three for the individual 400m. According to the iaaf report of the Aussie Champs, Day 2, he has gone backwards since competing on antibiotics at the Sydney Track Classic (the race Asafa ran in)…

One spot left open for the 4 x 400m relay. I suspect it will be Kurt Mulcahy, although Kurt pulled up with a hamstring injury in the 200m yesterday.

So the door is left a little ajar for Clay Watkins to prise his way into the team. If Kurt doesn’t fully recover in time, Clay will need to get down to 46.2 to maybe give himself an outside chance.

Regardless, we’re rapt Clay has gone from a PB of 46.99 at the start of this season to get down to 46.46 in the national final. Exciting times ahead.

some vids up http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=runnerstribedotcom&view=videos
that finish to womens 400m H

Surely they’ll have a team of 6.

You have 3 individual runners in 400 - who would be hoping to run 3 races. Tristan in the hurdles who would be hoping to get mulitple races. I reckon you are pushing your luck with 4-5 only.

Do you have more information on this antibiotics story? I find it strange that the effects should last for that long. Is he still ill? I assume he will have to show that he is in more than mid-46s shape at some point of the season to secure his spot on the team, right?
