. . . and Arnold cracks

Asafa does not seem very ambitious in his finish?
The way he lead the first 120 meter it was not a bad result for him, if he’ll stay with the 100 as main event and the race was just practice on his Long2short approach…

Wariner on the other hand should slowly get to improve his 200? But who knows how bad the headwind really was? Carter and Spearmon looked both really strong.

  • thoughts?

Wind was -2.3. Asafa may want to rethink his “double” with that effort.

WFM mindset:

“The next 200 meters is going to be a lot different,” Powell promised. “It was a little bit too cold.”

I just want to say your photo’s of the athletes, stadiums, ladies, (from all angles) are fantastic; THANKS! You must have a connection to a satalite in space.

MIKE NIKE

How about the form? (blue top)

…anyone know where can you get the compression shorts like the ones Asafa has on page 45? Like the green and blue ones, or the black and gold. I just like them.

The conditions in Osaka will be substantially better and the better conditions work in favour of the fastest vs the strongest (ie 400m types)
Conditions were truly miserable.

You can’t buy them. They are the Nike GP shorts…only Nike contract athletes get those…My training partner who is contracted gets all that stuff and being the nice young man he is gives me some…

Nike of course isn’t the only manufacturer of compression apparell. Body Armour - which makes a lot of Basketball playing gear - might be a place to start looking. Also go to a Bicycle specialist store, they would have something for Track cyclists.

Hard to comment. Presuming this is the homestraight of a 400m?

In any case, while shoulders are “down” - which is good, there appears little evidence of any shoulder involvement in the running action, which could account for what appears to be a stride shorter than desired. But without seeing the entire range of movement in your action, that’s all conjecture. You don’t appear to have enough “lift” or thrust through the butt of your grounded leg, but a split second later and the picture may tell a different story. Very hard to offer advice based on a single still frame.

Aye, thanks. Next time I’ll post more pictures!

Kitkat1, thanks. I knew that, but thanks. I like the adidas shorts with the crazy duct tape all over them too, but kind of expensive.

JasonUK, there is probably no way on earth I’d wear another man’s compression shorts. Maybe he gave them to you new? I’d punch a kitten for a pair of those…
