Don’t know nothing, but I’d like to know tonnes about they hard training, everything bout it(their GPP oct/nov/dec/jan/ type work, all of it) IF ALL THESE TIGHTO INSIDERS WOULD SHARE, but from researching/reading past stories/inteviews from past years they always say they be still working hard in month of may, at least for Powell, when he been laying down fast openers. I’ve read about them saying they still training hard background distances around may/june times. PJ, and these other elite coaches with athletes in Grand Prix type races can probably expand more on what they running during these days before Major Championships.

Reading about Stephen Francis having the CFTS in his grips when being interviewed, leads one to the conclusion that CFTS basics must be used by good number of elites. Also I may be biased to this looks right flies right sprinter type training(2 a days/3x a week) seeing as I’ve always been one to carry out training of this type for myself, adding weights on to sessions of different non-weight cns intensive type exercise.

Asafa hasn’t won world or olympic gold.

The reason I asked is because your statement was a bit off based on what they did the last 2 seasons, but I’ll leave it at that. Asafa is definitely doing his speed work and I doubt he is doing very intense weights right now.

I know I didn’t say he did. I said until the emergence of Gay he had a cakewalk to the upcoming WC and Olympic games gold.

anybody know gays, height and weight, he looks smaller than most but strong and ripped as hell

in fact I don’t think he’s won any sort of medal at world of Olympics yet, but surely that must change this year.

MLF anchors relay in glasgow

Pickering bts MLF in glasscow

craigs arms are messy from start to finish! they cross his body

You’re absolutely right! That’s why you run people when YOU are ready and not before, when everyone else clamours for a match.

Asafa has to run the Trials, he is not reigning world champion. His participation to 2005 Trials didn’t help his injury btw.

True.
I don’t think Gay has to worry about peaking for US Trials either. He should worry about just getthing through in one piece. Who’s gonna beat him from the US? Leonard Scott  ?

We never know what can happen. Leonard Scott hasn’t competed indoors, he opened with 21.05 on 5 May, then 10.34 on 20 May, then next race 10.10 on 2 June. If he continues like this… This spring Smith was confident that Leonard will do a fast time this year (as opposed to his 9.91 last year i presume…).

Where is Marcus Brunson, 6.46 indoors, then only 1 outdoor race so far 10.26 on 20 May, he is wise to avoid the US sprint madness, he and others might pop up when it counts.

I hope the wind will be +ive at USATF unlike the past years. Gatlin’s win margin last year was awsome, probably one of his best ever race.

Will Tyson run 9.7 race after race from May to September, the answer is ?

Mo is obviously someone that could stand up to gay…

(crickets)

10.10 June 2 where Tyson dropped nearly .5 on him in the 2nd half of the race? I guess we’ll see but I never have faith in guys that struggle with top end speed.

then watch again Stuttgart WAF 2006

Touche. If I were Scott I’d keep an eye on this thread looking out for NCAA D1 100m photos to analyze that competition.

Not the same level of trials!!
