advice

hey guys

i have 4 months before i begin to train before next season (100). Due to a minor injurie and pre season soccer traning i have been unable to run at the track or do any lower body weight traning. Some of the work we have been doing at soccer are… sets of long hill work, running at beach, 4k runs, lots of jumping exercises, sets of 3/400s, and some basic body weight exercises. Last week we did some short sprints and they felt very awful. I feel as though i have no strenght at the moment. Now im able to start running at the tracck again as the preseason is over and we do mostly ball work and play a game on the weekend.

I was wondering what you guys think i should do now before i start traninig for the next season?

thanx heeps

It sounds to me that you are in good shape to begin with. Before you go straight into speed work, you could do some low-intensity (and increase in complexity gradually) plyometrics. This will supplement your speed work, until you get into the season.
