400m Taper

There has been a lot of discussion on how an athlete should taper for a 100m race.

Should this taper differ for a 400m athlete?

This may be covered in the earlier forum’s discussion on 400m training, but in general, you can follow a similar tapering system as you do for the shorter sprints.

thanks for the response once again. I figured in principle there is no need to deviate dramatically from the usual taper, but what about the last session before the taper?

I should have been clearer in my first post. Should a 400m athlete move from something like 30,30,60,80,120 with full recovery to something more event specific?
