3-1-3 cycle

I just ran a search on this and have a better understanding of teh cycle as a whole but im still a little lost as to how i should go about increasing, and then decreasing on teh appropriate weeks, the volume of my speed work. Im training for 40 yd dash so i keep everything between 10 and 40 yds. What would be basic guidlines for me to follow? 300 yds per session? how would these be altered in unloading and maintenance weeks?
