He really did a great job right down to the part where he is handling the media well and dealing with the attention in a very relaxed way.
I am very excited to see how he does today and at the World Champs and how he is going to be digesting his season coming up at USC.
Great work by Tony Sharpe and Caryl Smith Gilbert.
Spectacular work by De Grasse.
And I don’t see anything going wrong or strange with the arms? He is using them very well from what I could see.
he has a training journal on here…
Plenty, lol.
He’s back.
he looked awkward over the first 40m or so I honestly I watched it live and looked like a 10.10 run. he running the final in 15minutes or so. interesting stuff and im sure gatlin is watching
also its like this guy will be running 9.7 easily by WC’s
agreed, we will see what kinda shape he in with a 15 minute rest
Solid performance, never mind the not the best start and transition. To be honest it’s actually cold outside.
not bad for a short rest
He had 1h between his heat and the final. The heat looked better than the final I thought. It had a stronger headwind and Bolt eased off over the last 15m. In the final he really had to work for it. If he drops another 0.2s for the World Champs, as he usually does for a big final, it will be a great show. I’m quite confident Gatlin will be in 9.6s shape as well.
It’s getting exciting. Bolt still looks fairly sloppy, and like he might be able to shave off a couple of tenths, so who knows what he might pop off. Gatlin should be in 9.6x soon like Robin said. Don’t forget about Asafa either. Honestly, the form he’s been in this year looks better than ever imo.
You think Asafa is in the form of his life? He doesn’t have the same start he used to, but his finish is better. Top speed doesn’t look as good as it was 5-7 years ago either.
his brother said he has been holding back on the start fearing injury
Although still a good run at 9.98, I thought Vicaut would have looked better than that. To me, he looked a little heavy and sluggish. Hopefully he’ll be at his peak in a months time.
Does anyone know what’s happened to Dasaolu? It’s been a long time now since he was in the kind of shape he was in when he ran 9.90.
Interesting… Thanks for that info.
He’s had a few injuries, mainly in the winter seasons. Seems like he hasn’t been able to develop the fitness required to run a good 100m. He’s still quite strong up to about 60m, which makes sense considering he trains short to long. His heat was 10.12 into a -1.2 headwind though, which should put him in sub 10 territory again under ideal conditions. He was drifting a lot in the final and seems to have lost balance a few times. This has also happened in other races this season. Not sure why.
