Does anyone know what happened to her? She had a great year in 2013 (10.87). then ran 0.5s slower in 2014 and almost 1s slower in 2015.
Short CNN bio on Candace Hill. Lots of clips from various races and a practice start or two.

Gatlin is running 9.7 every time he steps on the track now. This one had a headwind, and he beat Vicaut who recently ran 9.86 by 0.25s and he beat Gay by 0.19s. He should be able to go near the world record under ideal conditions this year.
Yeah. I’ve got him at 9.64 with a max wind with today’s run.
That’s with a 0.176 reaction time!
Give him something really good - 0.110, and all of a sudden he’s around the world record.
We’re witnessing something amazing.
True, but Gatin isn’t a 0.110 guy. I don’t think we can except better than a 0.14x.
Don’t forget that he ran a 4X100 leg about 1:50 before the 100. Often that would be a positive, but with a 37.68 running leg 2 after apparently a non-optimal pass from Bromell, this was probably not a shut-it-down-in-the-semi-and-save-something-for-the-final kind of effort.
we may see something special at the WC’s. does anyone see gatlin training day to day??
Fair enough!
Still, the guy is running this fast about a month before his presumptive peak. Is there any way he’s faster in August?
Only time will tell, but so far he has always been able to peak for the major championships.
South Africa has suddenly become a sprinting powerhouse. How did that happen?
Btw: The athlete Henry Mitchell told us he was coaching came 7th in this race.
Who’s Henry Mitchell when he’s not at home?
Asafa ran 9.87 0.0m/s today. Also… Lolo Jones in the flat 100m!
