She’s a power pack.
Merritt went through the first 200m in 20.6X and through 300m in 31.4X for a finish/final 100m closing of 12.3x…I guess he could prob do 300m in 31 flat by now seeing as his 300m pr has been stuck at 31.30 since 2006(i believe he matched his pr in 2010 at eugene)
He got to the 200m in 88 strides, 300m in 132 strides, and then 400m in 176.5 strides…track & field news said he went to 200m in 21.1x seconds, but it doesn’t make sense to me based on the video i used at youtube( www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDScTugxMUs )…if he had went through 200 in 21.1x it’d mean he got there in 90 strides, but at 90 strides he is 2 strides already past the 200m mark…the same with the 300m…if 31.8x then they’re saying he got to 300m in 134 strides where again he’s already 2 strides past 300m mark
Then with kirani james regarding his race distribution, based on the same video, i analyzed him at 200m at 20.8x and 300m at 31.8x…so based off this he ran the 3rd 100m segment 0.2 seconds slower than merritt… this coupled with the fact he was already behind at 200m and closer to his 200m pr( in terms of max percentages) led to his diminished uncharacteristic final/closing 200m of his
In 2007 osaka, merritt and wariner went through 300m in 31.5x…merritt faded to 43.96 in that race while wariner continued on to float in at 43.45…if you compare merritt and his final 100m in osaka and moscow he covered it in the same number of steps(44 strides), with osaka final 100m(12.4x seconds) being much more ragged compared to moscow final 100m(12.3x seconds) despite moscow only being 0.1 seconds faster…his moscow final 100m and even beijing final 100m were much more efficient…o

…says he began getting long when he felt bolt creep up…says coach advised him to not get long at end of race
She won’t win the 200.
Splits according to T&FN:

Yes these are the splits from T & FN that don’t make sense to me based on the video camera

Hi
I just noticed 3 Borlee brothers ran in Belgian relay. They are coached by their father. Its interesting how good they are considering Belbians are not realy a force in sprits.
Does anyone know anything about how they train?
Out of curiosity I analysed the video as well using Kinovea I get similar results to T&FN.
Freeze the frame where Merritt crosses the 200 mark, start the stopwatch in Kinovea, freeze the frame where he crosses the finish line and stop the stopwatch: 22.4
Interestingly if you look at the onscreen timer he crosses the line at 43.1x which is surprisingly way off. If this is how you timed the splits, that would explain the difference.
SHouldve listened to me. Felix tried to run with her and that hammy wasnt ready for that 10.7 speed from shelly.
Watch the race my friend - she was hurt long before anything happen.
thanks this explains it…what i had done was, just counted the strides, and matched up the # of strides with the time at each 100m interval marking…did you have merritt down for a 10.8x 3rd 100m segment and james for a 11.0x 3rd 100m segment?
