Who will win the world cup

Are you forgetting 94? Argentina had their best team ever, but somehow they forgot to bring along some defenders…

They looked good. Like I said earlier they are one of my sleepers. I hope they make it to the next round.

them and the USA at half strength thanks to all the assorted colors of cards will be fun to watch. and bruce arenas with the goal to win.

hey seanjos

how many serbia players did you pick in your dream team

Nanny

Thankfully none but I put Riquelme in who I thought was Argentina’s best player and he was the only clown on the team who didn’t score

USA did well that group is wide open now. I’ve worked out England’s run we will get Ecuador in the next round then Holland or Portugal in the quarters. Like it.

SeanJos

Well Brazil won 2 nil against Australia. Australia was played well in the first half, gave them a little space when they scored there first. Australia tried to attack more and Brazil got the second.

All the stats where reasonably even except penalties which was 35 to 9 in Brazils favour.

NOt sure if that is a true indicator of it because these Aussie eyes are green and gold only.

Have to thank Japan for drawing with Croatia.

Seanjos

you are assuming that the poms will or can beat their bogey team in Sweden.

so it maybe a england v germany rnd of 16 clash…

i think it will be an easier option than ecuador…

WW3… a marketers dream.

whats are defenders for if you score 6 times

England actually played some football today, though it is ironic that when they actually looked good in attack, their defence let them down. Germany are beginning to look quite threatening.

Sergei Bubka is amused as the lady referee books Frankie Fredericks for a foul on Prince Albert of Monaco in a soccer match between present and former members of the IOC athletes commission.

It’s football anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

You didn’t really think we were gonna beat Sweden did you ??

At least we get Ecuador now, we should brush them off like dandruff.
I’m not worried about conceeding 2 goals either they were set-pieces which can be worked on easily (stick to your man crouch !!!) but from open play they didn’t have a sniff.

The big teams are pretty much in full swing now I can’t wait for the first ‘big boy’ clash it could be Italy V Brazil in Second round

SeanJos

Germany starting to click slowly, steadily but surely …

England were all over the shop … impressive in bits and then seemed to throw the game away after a first half they dominated.

Sad to see Owen out.

Why is Crouch in the starting 11. All he seems to have going is his height.

Yep Owen’s out is disappointing.

Crouch although picked to score goals does offer the poms alot of options off the ball and actually gives alot of ball for the midfielder coming forward aka great service with gerrard for liverpool.

but sven or should i say mr burns from the simpsons is playing gerrard way to deep, so far in the tournament anyway.

the dutch are boring me to tears… number 3 in the world my arse

the resemblance is uncanny…

Thanks for that. Well I couldn’t gives a rats if my team bored the opposition to sleep, at that level it is about winning.

Hollands time in the cup i feel will be very short lived.

they next play Portugal and are also on the same side of the draw as ecuador and the poms.

but tonight is a massive night aust v croatia with aust having 7 players of croatian background and croatia having 3 aussie born players who came through the AIS system before defecting to croatia. and also Group E will be some great viewing could be a long night this one.

Every world cup a team that nobody even knew qualified comes in and scraps it out with the bigger teams and get through to playoffs.
You can’t help but get behind teams like this and for my money it’s been Australia in this tournament.

Eyes on the Cze v ITA game for them, I don’t think Aus can take Italy.

I predicted an England win and we will get Hol or Por in the quarters neither will cause a problem.

SeanJos

The problem is with Lampard and Gerard … one must stay back - he brought no other defensive midfielder … as for strikers … Theo who?

ea sports’ prediction is lookin good now…
