Apparently he can run the 100m in less than 11secs despite the fast-twitch sapping nature of the training they do.
Peoples expectations mean Brazil cannot just win, they have to win spectacularly. Just scoring goals is not enough, they have to be exceptional goals. The only other team that has similar expectations is the All Blacks in rugby, where everyone expects them to score brilliant tries. The Australian cricket team is also reaching that status.
England can win the WC, but if they do, it will be in spite of the Manager. They basically need to disregard his tactics and do the opposite, especially give up on constant long balls.
I don’t think goals necessarily matter. Brazil will work into the competition.

The long balls to Crouch result from the frustration of playing a team with 10 men behind the ball. If I say so myself I got it right about widening the field. Lampard was in genuine scoring positions 7 times the bbc counted and fluffed them all.
Walcott sub 11 ?? Having seen him up close I say no way. He is quick and zippy but Chris Ronaldo even with his horrible running form is quicker.
Where the Hell did Aaron Lennon come from ? I don’t even know his club and he changed the tempo of the entire game. He’s why T&T got burned out. Brilliant.

Ecuador were quite impressive. I’ve never seen them before. Most players looked like they came from West Africa - so fast, so strong. But mix that athleticism with South American flare and ball-skills and you’ve got the idea. Them and Czechs have been among the best of the less-famous sides.

Not the best team in the competition - technically good, extremely disciplined and very well organised to counter any other team
England are not good enough to win the World Cup.
Unfortunately the biggest drawback for them is their media.
They are constantly told how great the Premeirship is and how great they are and the fans listen to this too… this is not the case - technically the Spainish or Italian leagues are better and this is clearly seen in the World Cup later stages.
England are good, but simply not good enough technicallly as individuals.
They are not fit enough in my opinion either.
Or not being trained properly to be more exact.
IMO Owen is not fit enough and does anyone else think he is carrying a little weight?

ARGENTINA WOW. 6-0 v Serbia & M. Bad luck Duxx. Ouch! Only saw first half of the game, but Argentina seemed to show few weaknesses, except maybe a lack of height but when you can score goals of such magnificence and with such regularity it will take a mighty effort to beat them. This is the first team I’ve been able to watch so far to stand up in this World Cup and declare ‘it’s our Cup.’

Serbia would get beat by a pub team. Argentina are pretty good, Riquelme is stunning but they will get beat (as they have in all recent games they’ve lost) to a more PHYSICALLY dominating force.
Individually it is the opinion of many (including Brazil’s coach) that man for man England are the best team in the tournament. It’s if they can get it done together that is the concern. Argentina look slick and organised and I don’t think Holland will pose a problem, but wait till they meet the rough teams: Czech’s, Germany they will get it handed to em.

Argentina definitely have been the best on the feild! They are looking awefully dangerous! We’ll have to see once all the teams have played their second game to get a better assessment of everyone.
I would love to see them vs Brazil in the finals.
It is good to see Argentina play an attacking game once again. I figure it is the first time since 1986 and Maradona at his best. After that they appear to have specialised in playing for draws and winning on penalties in the knockout stages. That second goal of theirs was fantastic. It had around 24 passes. Yes it would be great to see a Brazil Argentina final.

Lennon plays for Tottenham who finished 5th last year in thew Premiership. Definately a good player but still can’t consistantly deliver a good final ball - very frustrating.
