Ok, a number of questions for the forum:
First;
What is more important?
- The ability to absorb a lot of energy?
- The ability to generate a lot of energy?
1 = foot/achilles tendon / quads upon ground contact etc… Aswell as breaking effect of hammies during forwards swing of leg.
2 = Glutes in the drive phase is the best example I can think of.
Rate the following in terms of importance to max v sprinting… ( in terms of strength and neural skill required?)
A) Forwards kneee drive
B) upwards knee lift
C) Hamstring breaking effect to prevent too much knee lift.
D) Paw down and paw back.
E) Foot and achilles tendon, storing and releasing of energy, during ground contact
F) Glutes working to drive thigh down and back
G) Glutes working to keep torso upright
( countering abdominals )
H) Feet reaching lateral midline easily. At ground contact, your foot has to move in towards center line.
I) Ability to have high hips in sprinting. ( the result of everything?)
:o :rolleyes: :eek:
