You mean the Plios ?
I do them over track, and some up stairs too.
I guess the problem is that i´m doing just 1 session a week.
where are you in brazil? Im going to florinopalis in dec. where could I train? sprints & PV
Oh man, nice to hear that.
I´m in Curitiba, near by Florianópolis ( about 250 miles distance ).
Florianópolis is considered one of the best city in Brazil to live, lots of Germans ( deustch colonization ) lots of wonderfull girls,
a very nice beach
and lower taxes of criminality.
I don´t know about places to sprint there but i know that Florianópolis is like a barn ( granary ) of RaceWalkers.
What the reasons for your trip ?
As Charlie said coaching is an art. (at least it can be)
So a good coach sees, feels, understands when his athlete gets to tired for high quality speed work, too exhausted for extensive tempo, is too weak for plyos.
But a lot of the coaches out there might not be artists
Thats when these rules make sense. They might not be perfect, buts for example it’s better to follow rules like to have at least
“run distance in meters” / 10 = “minutes rest”
for speed work instead of making your athletes run 80m full speed every 3 minutes, to wait for the heartbeat go down to 120 bpm instead of making your athlete run tempo until he/she pukes or make sure they can do a 200% bodyweight half squat before you make them jump off 30 inches boxes…
The more advanced the coach, the less he will need these rules. But for less gifted coaches the rules might prevent them from doing harm to their athletes…
