hi guys
do you think a pool session or something indoors like running A’s would be a better alternative than doing tempo’s outside.
doing the alternative would be purley due to bad weather and not becasue of soreness of injury.
any thoughts???
i have done a tempo session with running a’s if the weather has been to bad outside in the past but just wondering if you think a pool session would be better.
I like pool the best. I am not in a place where outdoor workouts are possible (no tempo running) and I run on a very hard and crappy surface already, so the pool takes a lot of pressure off the legs and to be honest, just feels good. Not to mention the fact you get to show off the bod to the hot swimmer and diver chicks (at least they’re hot at my school).
Pool is good. Stationary bike – light resistance and going harder for 15-20 seconds and then easy for 40-45 is an option. Running As make sense. I’ve done some easy jump rope – 100 reps and then a minute of rest or so. I’ve also found that on days I can’t get out, I just go through a dynamic warmup for about 30 minutes, which includes a variety of exercises that I can do in limited space.
First choice, though is to get outside – on grass, dirt or snow – if possible. When you can’t, you have to take what’s available. If you have more than one option, I’d alternate between your options.
of course going outside is the best option, just today its been thunderstoming so i thought it would be better doing something indoors.
like i said before i have done running a’s where i do 20X20sec instead of 20X100m outside, i do break those up into sets, thats just the total.
but today i did do a pool session, 45sec on 15sec off and i must say its tough. not sure which session i prefer, i definalty build up more of a sweat doing the running a’s but the pool was a nice change i guess.
