What breakdown in technique would cause unusual quad soreness?

I have been doing shorter sprints (~30-55 meters) and notice my quads are pretty sore afterwords

Could it just be from the nature of the shorter race? (More quad involvement or could I be stepping too far in front?)

Thanks,
Chris

This is quite a hard question to answer unless we have some other details as to what other training you are/aren’t doing. My initial thought is that if you’re not used to doing it then the explosive nature of these distances may cause tighteness in the quads. I’m noe expert, just my 2c

I actually found out what was doing it.

Jump squats with 50% BW in between heavy sets of back squats.

I eliminated those from my program and my quads are feeling MUCH better…

Cheers,
Chris

Well if you begin to feel that soreness, and not being used to explosive stuff is in fact the reason, what do you do about it?
