Will sprinting with a weight sled damage an all-weather track? Should you always use the sled on grass/turf?
No it shouldnt damage the track, most good sleds are made for that surface - its the joggers going round and round the inside lane in their trainers that damage the track!!
We used to have tyres on the trackā¦but that got banned!!
it may help speed line paint removal, hence some tracks may not want you doing such a thing?? ask at the track you intend on doing it at.
do it on the infield of a track
usually it wont hurt the grass
and no one cares about the middle if its not in the vault, high jump, or long jump areas
will dragging a smaller, light tire on a rubberized track really damage the track at all?
i recon it would.
for one, it would leave back marks on the track
two, erase white lines faster
three, if tartan, could start to form slight indents as the rubber seems to ball up if done by many members and often over a period of time.
