Anyone hear about this in regards to having open or closed fists while sprinting. the theory behind it is that it does not matter whether your fists are open or closed as long as your thumbs reach vertical?
Any thoughts on the validity of this theory?
This theory may be valid for correct arm motion, but remember that you must stay relaxed in sprinting. I would think that open hand would allow you to do this more easily, as it is a more natural position.
Not sure if an open hand will help better vs. a fist -an individual matter- but I believe the thumb pointing upwards, or rested on your finger (relaxed fist) is a position that helps you keep you shoulder muscles relaxed.
Others?
I think this is just an individual matter and something that you shouldn’t think about too much, as long as your arms are moving properly. Instead of having that extra detail to think about, I would just focus on relaxing as much as possible. Mine are neither noticeable open or closed.
