Variability within short distances

Runs up to 30m aren’t differentiated 95 to 100% for CNS reasons very often as the “breadth” isn’t great and the “height” is limited by the velocity you can reach by that distance.

For athletes that need speed only in short bursts up to 30m (eg. in my case a rugby player, but this would apply to almost all team sports) how else would you vary the speed work to prevent plateauing?

how about

first mesocycle: 2x10x10m
second mesocycle: 2x6x20m
third mesocycle: 2x5x30m

is this kind of variability which is needed to prevent speed development from going stale? then I guess in further mesocycles different starts could be used. Stationary start (eg. 3pt, lying, standing, etc), rolling or flying.

Am I correct?
