I’m having trouble “stepping over” towards the end of the 100m. I’ve been doing a lot of fly’s and top speed work lately and I don’t have this same trouble when doing these.
I’m thinking this may be a speed endurance problem, what do you guys think? What should I do for speed endurance work, some 200’s? If anyone has any drills to practice “stepping over” that might help to.
My speed endurance base is pretty bad, I won’t lie. Last semester was my 1st season running track, so I’m very new to this stuff. As a former high school football, bball and baseball guy, 100m is a very long way compared to the 40 or 60 yard dash. I need to work on the “back end” of my sprint events.
A little background: I’m 6’ 185 lbs. I walked onto my colleges team in January, and had a great year but I’m looking to get a lot better, I’m gonna be a sophmore in college this fall. I run short sprints and throw the javelin.
