i wish they could turn there team around, bc i have been pulling for bu for yrs now - always come up short.

Im not really much of a deadlift person as you can see. I just cant pick up weight off the ground. My form is good but Just cant throw the weight up like everyone else can, same with powerclean. It sucks now not coming after home after school to watch the NFL scouting combine. Such a short event. Best event to watch on TV when football season is over.

Well, my squat is going up definitely. Was only supposed to do 275x6 on card but did 295x6. I wish these coaches wouldnt waste my time doing DB decline presses, and the clean n press. I could already be getting a stronger flat bench right now.

We just played touch football for 35minutes straight and that is it. Got pretty tired as the game went on, but only got beat once and scored once. Wide open on every play but just not good enough for the 3rd string QB. Doesnt like me enough to throw it to me that often. But he is only 3rd string.

Looks like your squat could be much higher too. That first set of 6 with 185 looks like it could almost be a warm up set if you ended with 295 for 6.

Those sets are warmup sets. I just followed the workout they gave me, and it is considered a warmup set. My max should be around 340 now, and I still only weigh 155 )=.

Did a low-volume upperbody workout yesterday, so I wanted to do heavy one today.

Man, I felt like I could do 205x6. It felt that easy. My bench and squat are going up pretty fast. On the calculators, my bench is 235, and squat is 355. Those numbers sound a bit off, but at least they are going up. Im going to start doing speed/plyos next week on my own instead of doing the dreadful track workouts. I can run the track workouts, but cant run track coach said.

My Broad jump increased 4" form a year ago. On my squat workout today, I felt like I could do 315x6. The coach spotted me, and said that was too easy for me. But I think he helped me a little bit though. Pretty good workout that Daniel Martinez designed for me. Thanks DM.

No problem. If the weights at school feel easier, emphasize acceleration and compromise max load. You can do this more effectively (even with the coaches watching) by controlling your eccentric more (slowing it down) and accelerating hard. It will look (and should be) more difficult but should help more than just moving weight around.

Im already in the habit of doing this, and I always make sure I go parallel or lower. I use a low-bar wide stance.

I was using my own weight rack. My weight bench is just a regular bench set. I put the adjustable racks high so I can squat with them, and is not that safe but I learned my lesson. I tried 325x3 and only got 1. My weak older brother tried to spot me from behind but I went forward and the damn bar fell off my back. I could have seriously injured myself doing that. And my brother did not know how to spot. No more lifting weights at my house. That means I cant lift weights this week period. I was so damn scared. But I will continue doing my sprints and plyos.

Enjoying my spring break right now. Also enjoying this week off from weights, still shook up from what happened yesterday. Can’t wait to see the 300 tonight!

I just now noticed that the box that I squatted to was 2-2.5" below parallel. No wonder why I could only do 325x1. But I’ll be sure never to squat to that box no more. And I’m the only person at my school that squats parallel and squats without a belt, so a lot of people think I’m crazy and say I will mess up my back just like a year ago. But I’m ok with that since I’ve gotten a lot stronger than I used to be.
