Training to Enter the Next Level.

Ive been wanting to try that stuff back in like jr high. But my parents wouldn’t let me order it because the articles looked too good to be true. What is in the musco mxt? And how many servings per container is in the nitro2max? I always thought that stuff looked too good to be true.

i buy the big ass bucket for 150 but i get discounts bc she know me from college. i have had my bucket for about 2yrs now. when rashan salamm was in college he used the mxt and it help him stay injury free. it does help increase strength, endurance and joint pain. the reason why there shit is soo cheap is they dont advertise on tv etc. the nitro is better then any weightgainer for putting on weight.

That naked juice stuff is awesome, but it’s pretty expensive over here. Usually around $2.69-3.29 per bottle.

Wednesday:

Parallel Squat: 135x10, 225x3, 275x3, 295x3, 305x3, 315x3, 325x3

Conditioning:
5 x Ladders(50yd and back, 40yds and back, 30yds and back, 20yds and back, 10yds and back). 2:30-3min rest imbetween each run. 1:20 target time for the first 3 and 1:40 target time for last 2. Slowest time I had was 1:19.

Weight: 169 with my Vick shoes.

The squats were real easy today, 325 was easy for 3 times and probably could have done it 5 times. I didn’t expect to do ladders today but I made it through and smoked the times by 20sec or more on each run. It was also cloudy out there so that gave me an advantage probably. Now its time to sit back and play NCAA 08. Ive got a lot to learn on this game, it is real different from 07.

Friday:

My conditioning is still improving, don’t have any indication of if Im in game shape or not but I have never felt this well conditioned. Im almost half way done reading Tony Dungy’s new book and Ive learned a lot from this coach. He is my new favorite coach, even if he beats the cowboys this year.

Reverse Fly Machine:2x15

Conditioning: 2x300yd shuttles, 2x200yd shuttles, 4x100yd shuttles.

Weight: 168 upon rising.

I didn’t get any quality sleep whatsoever. I just couldn’t stop moving in my sleep. Then when I woke up, there was no food either. So I could only eat a bowl of cereal with a cup of whole milk. My allergies also once again were flaring up on me terribly and I could barely breathe throughout the whole workout. I didn’t make all my times today either which I was real disappointed by that. I hope to have a better day tomorrow.

Tuesday:

Shoulder Press:8x6
Hammer Curls:8x6
Dips:8x15
30sec rest after supersetting all 3 excercises.

Conditioning:
20sec on 20sec off for 30min. 10mph

Weight:170.5

Weight is going up very slowly but I finally went over 170. I was stuck at 167-169 for this whole month. Had a better breakfast this morning also, but my stomach was still nauseated before this workout.

What do you run your 300 shuttle in?

I don’t know exactly but in one workout I ran 5x300yd shuttles and my slowest time was 57 sec.

Squat:225x3, 275x3, 295x3, 315x3, 325x3, 335x3, 365x3
Stepups:4x10
Leg Curls:4x15
Calf Raises:4x15

Conditioning:
Stairmaster for 15min.

Weight: 172 with Vick shoes

I was very surprised that I could do 365x3, my predicted max is probably at least 385. That would mean that I have gained 40lbs to my squat max this summer. Once I did 335x3, that was a pr to me but it felt real easy for some reason. My 40 has probably gotten faster now since I have gotten a stronger squat and I have added 15lbs of solid muscle.

Nice work bud, keep it up. Aren’t you glad you gained that weight now?

Where’d the power work go? Strength, conditioning, but no power? No speed?

Yeah I was going to ask the same question, I see very little to no speed work done. Any reason why your trainer doesn’t include any speed work? Even this close to season you can still do speed once a week while you’re conditioning at the least to maintain IMO.

Im pretty sure that he doesn’t know what true speed work is, nor he would use it if he knew what it was anyways. His philosophy is simply to run you into the ground and make you make a desicion to whether you beat the workout or the workout beats you. Im sure that I have gotten faster with the huge strength gains this summer and with the Intense conditioning, and the added mass.

Friday:

Bench:225x3, 235x3, 245x3
Squat:225x3, 275x3, 315x3, 335x3, 370x3
Lat Pulldowns:4x15
Calf Raises:4x20
Shoulder Press:3x6
Leg Curls:3x15
Hammer Curls:3x6
Leg Curls:3x15
Dips:3x15
Hyperextentions:3x15

Weight:170

This was my last workout with my trainer. He just had me do a full-body workout today with no conditioning. I set a new pr on my bench today, 245x3, my 1rm may be 260. I have made a lot of progress with my trainer this summer, added 15lbs of muscle, 45lbs to my squat, and 20lbs to my bench. Now, I have a week off because I have to go to a trip to N.C. I am going to have to maintain my muscle mass and strength for 9 days so I will probably do a bunch of bw stuff in the hotel while Im over there.

Well I am back from a 9 day vacation. I was only able to go out for a jog once and did some intense rock climbing. I was surprised that I still weighed the same from last week and I didn’t hardly do anything. I finished my Tony Dungy during the trip. I have gained a whole lot of knowledge and wisdom from reading that book, and I highly recommend that book to anybody. Camp starts monday so I just have to keep praying to the lord to help me guide me through the season.

Monday:

All we did was a little bit of lifting which there is no need to do any heavy lifting anymore since it is in-season. We had a 2.5hr practice with just wearing helmets that went very well, and we have a lot better coaching staff than last year. They are also using a lot more subs in practice so everybody can get a break. We ended the practice with running 10x50yd sprints and a 100yd shuttle, I’d say that the rest was between 15-25sec rest.

Everybody on the team could tell that I looked bigger than I was. I also was able to recover a lot faster than after a drill than when I was able to last football season.

Tuesday-Thursday:
Same as monday.

Friday:

This was the first day of full pads on. Something might be wrong with my neck from when I tackled someone with the wrong head position. It feels like I jammed it or strained it. I have found out this week that football just sucks if it is no fun. I have to have fun in order to be good at it. I’ve been too serious about it and I try to do too much but I wind up screwing up being that way, football is a game not work. I just need to relax and have fun out there. This week was good until I did something to my neck.

Mon-wed:

Injured(jammed my neck)

Thursday and Friday I was back, and then we had a scrimmage today. Being out those 3 days I really regret because my conditioning suffered. It also affected my playing time today. I only had 1 reception for 10yds, and was wide open on every fricken pass play we ran. Then on defense I had like 3 tackles for only being in their for 5 plays. Not everything is going the way I want it so far but I am still going to keep trying my hardest to earn some more playing time.

Haven’t posted in my journal for quite some time, just forgot all about it. Last week my team lost 28-12 and they knew every play we were running, I only had 2 tackles during that game. This week we won 39-13. I had 5 tackles, 1tfl, and 1 sack. I am getting really ticked when the QB’s already predetermine who they will throw it to before the play starts. I also might have separated my shoulder during the last game. It feels just like I separated my shoulder last year. Playing LB gets me hurt, I wish better things would happen when I play WR. I sure hope that my shoulder is nothing serious tomorrow.
