lol, you young kids and weight gain. i think the stuff WRCortese5 did early this year would be more effective at gaining size then doing leg curl and leg ext. No disrepect to Odell but he was a great high school player in the greater houton area but didnt live up to the hype in college at all, maybe it was the school - should have went to NEB, more then anything hes a great guy and a man of God. If you cant motivate push yourself then you gonna have a hard time making to the next level and being successful.
I love it when someone starts off “no disrespect”, when that immediately lets you know they’re planning on being disrespectful. Is that how you made it to A&M?
I don’t want this to take away from his log so this was my only comment here. Continue hating me.
the reason why i said no disrepect and didnt live up to the hype bc coming out of hs odell was one of the best players overall and at his position and didnt really live up to the standards many people had of him mainly bc of injuries etc. when i saw that he decided to go to baylor over neb and other top programs i knew it was over for him - lol. once again i dont know alot about odell but from what i heard hes a great guy and a man of god!
I mean if its working by all means continue doing it. Maybe its just shocking your body from being used to such low reps. But no one knows your body like you so if it is responding well to it keep it going.
Friday:
Conditioning:
30x20sec intervals on treadmill 10mph.
Weights:
Bench:6sets x 6 reps with 155.
Lat Pulldown:6x15.
Incline DB Bench:3x15
Hyper’s:2x15
DB Rows:3x15
Decline Pushups:3x15.
Medball and ABS
Weight:164
Those decline Pushups killed me by doing that last. I could barely move after doing those. Well I don’t know If we will continue doing the cowboys conditioning program but we hardly did it because it rained continuously for the past 5 weeks. I just hope he doesn’t have me do those 100yd resisted runs and backpeddals like he had me do last year.
Why he’s having you do an NFL conditioning program is beyond me
You’re only a junior in HS! But I assume your conditioning is fairly well now, yes?
EDIT: I read that you guys hardly even ran it cuz of the rain, so nevermind!
HaHa. Well, your workouts look pretty well planned though. Yes I do feel well conditioned. He tells me that I make all the times in the workouts so I guess that pretty much proves that I am conditioned well. Do you still plan on playing football somewhere?
Good stuff then. Yeah but this season I am sitting out. I have to re-take a couple classes before I can transfer, then I will be walking on at a local D1-AA school in January when I transfer. I’m lookin forward to it. In the meantime, I’m coaching wide receivers and have been speed/conditioning coach this summer/fall at my old HS so at least I can stay involved w/ football in one way or another til I get back to playing ya know?
So I still have 2 years to play 2 left on my “clock” (never used the redshirt year).
Good luck on walking on. I remember you saying that it was very hard getting playing time at your JC because of all the talent they had on the team. And do you think you can still run a sub 4.5 with the bigger size you have now.
I think I can run faster than my 4.48 PB defenitley. The JC team I played for had many many talented players every single year, to say the least!! But I dont like using that as an excuse really. What happened is done, and Im lookin forward now to a new page and starting over.

)
Abs-350
Weight:165
It will never stop raining here! I absolutely hate the indoor workouts. Im also increasing my caloric intake and not going to eat as healthy as I was now because of reading Kellyb’s get off the pot or shit article lol. I will also eat a smaller breakfast because I keep on getting morning sickness with eating over 500 calories. Even with 3hrs of digestion prior to my workout my stomach still feels sick.
That looks like a large amount of upper push volume compared to your upper pulling…
Maybe it’d be easier for you to consume a shake in the morning as opposed to solid foods. You could still get in a decent amount of calories too. Oats, berries, protein powder, etc… You can get creative with it.
Tuesday:
DB circuit:
8 x Shoulder Press x 6, 37.5’s
Hammer Curl x 6, 25’s
Dips x 15, BW
4 x Upright Rows x 6, 30’s
Hammer Curl x 6, 25’s
Dips x 15, BW
30s rest imbetween sets.
Conditioning:
5x300yds shuttles, Target time 55-65sec. Slowest time was 57sec. 2:30-3:00 rest imbetween sprints.
Weight: 167, 10lb increase this month.
I was glad that I didn’t have to do 15 reps on everything today. We will be doing more lower rep set on everything for July. I was also happy that I got to run “naturally” instead of running intervals on a treadmill! It felt so good to run on that turf in the 95 degree heat. I smoked all the times today on those 300yd shuttles too, even with the extra 10lbs on me. I dont really feel any different with the added 10lbs but everybody says that my chest and back is alot bigger. Hopefully my acceleration has gotten better along with the extra mass. That would definitely help me deliver bigger hits.
Good job on the weight gain man. 170 will be here soon!
Thanks man, I see you have made some progress on your weight gain after JC as well. I hope to maybe gain another 10lbs through the month of July, I would be 177 at 5’9 if I did that! That would be stocky enough to play running back, but most likely I will stick to receiver just because we already have a good runningback at my school.
I wasn’t aware you were with child ![]()
No reason to set a weight standard by position… Just do your thing, even if you’re 5’9" 175. That’s not that “stocky” though. We had a slot receiver, 2 year starter who as barley 5’5" and 180 lbs.
Wednesday:
Squats:185x6, 195x5, 205x6, 215x6, 225x6, 245x6, 275x6
Stepups:7x10
Leg Curls:7x15
Calf Raises:7x15
Stairmaster: 20min.
Weight 167
Those squats were easy today, I got below parallel on all the reps. It really will never stop raining, just when I had a good day of running 300yd shuttles in the 95 degree heat, I thought it would be that way for the rest of the week but it poured down hard right after I ran. I bet my maxes are just as strong or stronger than what they were during the school year.
Friday:
Bench:4x6 w/ 175
Deline Pushups:3x15, failed so I only did 10-13 on them.
Lat Pulldowns:6x15
Hyperextentions:2x15
Conditioning: Treadmill: 10x1min on 1min off.
Didn’t really do much today because he was busy working with LT. Vince Young was over there but I didn’t get to meet him or LT. Wish I could have though.
Monday:
Bench:165x3, 175x3, 185x3, 195x3, 195x3, 195x3
Lat Pulldowns:6x15, various grips
Incline Press:4x6
DB rows:2x15
Reverse Flyes:2x15
Conditioning:
5xLatters (50-40-30-20-10), 1st 3 1:20, last 2 1:40sec.
Those latters have to be the hardest conditioning there is. There is so much decelerating and change of direction for a long distance in the drill. It felt so good just to finish my last one. My legs were burning so bad throughout the whole workout but I still managed to make my times. The bench workout was real easy today. I still don’t know where my bench is at as far as a max. I sure hope I can still bench my pb 240.
