Last year I missed 5 months of training due to injury and ended the year with 21.86, 21.82 200m and 10.96 100m (i only ran 3).
This year Im feeling faster in practice and training smarter with the same amount of volume. the only difference is im lifting more consistently (3 days a week bench squat clean or bench deadlift clean)
if made considerable increases in my strength over the last few weeks benching 300, clean 220, dl 350 for 2 and am 183 pnds and 6’0. I am also about 12.5% body fat.
What im wondering is i recently ran 2 indoor meets and the best i could muster was 7.22 in the 60m and 22.54 in the 200m. is this a result of too heavy lifting? being too heavy? in the past ive run 7.11 and 22.09 indoors to run 21.92 and 11.03 outdoors so im not too sure whats going on the races felt great. anyone have any advice? Im training for the 200m and hoped to go under 21.5 this year after a pb last year. cheers.
