Tommy John

I think Cowboys and Rangers would win the most-crippled award if one existed.

And let us not forget about the Coaches/Marketers 3 or 4 of them that claimed Ben was performing squats somehow someway before the Final in 88 and that one of them put together his weight program lol

No Shame in their Game! Misinformation at it’s finest.
Many Marketers are like many Bill Collectors…one knows they are lying when they move their lips.

CF may have not have known everything but most of the ppl are fooling themselves if they think they were narrowing the gap on his Training knowledge.
Isn’t the Universe expanding at a faster rate near the edges compared to anywhere else in it?

RE: extra day of rest
That’s like putting a $10 - 100 MM insurance policy on an arm.

My brother works at the IBF in Lausanne, Switzerland. I come from a Baseball Family.
He Coached at all levels in another Country with much success. CF influenced.
Quick story- By the time he was 8 yrs old…I am 5 yrs older…I could no longer strike him out and I could pitch very well back then.

According to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Prince Fielder is considering undergoing season-ending surgery to repair the herniated disc in his neck.

Fielder paid a visit to spine specialist Dr. Drew Dossett on Thursday at the Carrell Clinic in Dallas. The big first baseman received a nerve-root injection this past weekend, but it apparently hasn’t alleviated the pain being caused by his herniated disc.

Done deal: Prince Fielder done for season. Will have a disc removed and neck fusion. Peyton Manning surgery. Should be good to go next year.

they got him with no physical

Josh Beckett threw a NO-NO yesterday - 128 pitches and 80 strikes. The past 3 years I have been warning managers how to scale back a starting pitchers workload after a NO-NO. Two things normally takes place when guys toss a NO-NO: 1) Injury 2) Bad performances.

Flashback: 2 years ago Johan Santana threw a no hitter and within his next 2 starts he got injured and haven’t pitched since.

Using some of Charlie concepts after athletes hit a PR.

1: They should miss their next 2 starts (about 10 days).
2: First game back keep pitch count at 70-80.
3: Second game back full load. Keep a close eye, any breakdown remove from game.

Keep track of Josh next 3 starts, I have no doubt if they don’t scale back his work load he will either get injured or give up a shit load of runs.

Many managers don’t account for the physical and mental drain it takes to toss a no hitter let alone the stress on the CNS. No different from a track PR or lift PR.

Hah, I knew a guy who worked for an MLB and another former amateur athlete that currently is. The programs they either had to monitor or in the second guys place the fact he is even hired is a joke!

I do not get how all these idiots keep getting hired.

Hell in my case I got my own coach improved across the board was cut and told to fuck off lol. For getting better!!!

Baseball was my first love and always will be. I have found you can tell who has half a clue and who doesn’t, and say what you will about Clemens but he must of had half a clue. Poor Roy halladay worked his ass off and now his arm is gone

I know nothing about baseball, sounds like it is being run by an old boys club.

Our boy Josh is going tonight. He will be facing a very weak Pitt offense. Vegas made him a big favorite for tonight’s game which is crazy. Let’s track his next 3.

Pitt offense 14 overall - 16 vs righties/lefties

Josh 70 overall - 70 vs righties/73 lefties

Top 26 in all 10 key metrics - top 4 in woba(Weighted On-Base Average)

Start # 1:

5ip 5 hits 2era 1hr 88-56 strikes.

I think at this point (college athletes), a lot of the javelin throwers or baseball players I know kind of expect to tear their ucl at some point and so until it is torn throw their arm into a wreck because if they assume it’ll get torn at some point anyways, might as well fit in as many throws as you can

plus most are told you can come out of tommy john surgery throwing harder, and less injury prone, and may have better mechanics (due to mobility work while not being able to throw)

I remember reading somewhere that japanese pitchers operate on a similar mindset?

Start # 2 vs White Sox - i see a couple homers tonight.

Let me do 5000m of speed work a week and pray I can squeeze in 2 months of training before blowing up my hamstrings. Not very smart thinking. Maybe we should take a note from the Latin countries. I wouldn’t recommend the japanese system.

Start # 2:

6ip 9 hits 2era 2hr 99-63 strikes

BALTIMORE – The comeback bid of two-time Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana has ended because of a torn Achilles tendon.

The injury occurred Friday while the left-hander was pitching for the Baltimore Orioles in extended spring training. Santana was struck by a line drive, then stumbled when chasing the ball.

Orioles vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette says an examination determined a tendon tear.

Duquette said of Santana: “He won’t be able to pitch for the Orioles this season.”

The 35-year-old Santana has not pitched in the majors since 2012 with the New York Mets. He signed a minor league contract with Baltimore in March.

Santana’s return appeared on course when the Orioles purchased his contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday and placed him on the major league disabled list.

Start # 3 (Wed) vs Big Red another weak offense but hitter friendly ball park.

Start # 1:

5ip 5 hits 2era 1hr 88-56 strikes.

Start # 2:

6ip 9 hits 2era 2hr 99-63 strikes

Start # 3:

6ip 2 hits 0era 90-57 strikes

Great night by Josh. He’s having a great year after having injury issues last season.

agreed. granted, cf used to talk about when he was training that he’d train to injury then see the improvments after rehabbing, and many athletes never improve innjury or no injury!

I wonder about armed forces training, too, because looking at the workouts that the ROTC kids do at my school, I’d be injured within a month, no doubt. might moreso be a system that is effective at filtering out all athletes who cannot handle extreme wok capacity though injury to the rest than a good training philiosophy in general. perhaps all jaap ese pitchers that don’t have rubber arms get injured and quit so it appears that throwing endless numbers of pitches results in great endurance when in reality it hazes everyone and only the strongest survive it

Another dodgers pitcher just pitched a no no. 100+ pitches let’s track those next 3 starts.

Kershaw has been racking up the innings the last few years too, and started the year on the disabled list I believe? This could be interesting
