To PJ re. OF spikes

Is there any technical reason for O using the Adistar in stead of the Demolisher or the spikes Gay was using (model?)?

Ah the Adistar has less spikes (6) in the spike plate than the demolishers. Both have aggressive plate angles. The demolshers spike plate is a little more rigid and has better arch support. I run in the Adistars at the moment.
I was just comparing the two models the other day.

He feels demiloshers are a little bit heavy he feels confortable in the first half but struggles in the last part of the races. He switched to adistar this indoors, then tried tyson’s ones during June meetings. Awful results he says it’s just good for him to run very fast for the first 10m only, so he came back to adistar for African Games and World Champs. It’s just a matter of how comfortable the athletes feels.

I have always used high-end Nike except for the Adidas Powersprint. I found them heavy and not as plate stiff as the Nike.

My all time favourite were the Nike Superfly of the year 1999/2000, Mo’s red and chartreuse. I think they still have some “fans” but they are impossible to find.

I wanted to try Adidas again this year, but I am not sure which model to buy. I like them very rigid and light, so far none of the Adidas sound like that. May be I should look at the Asics…

My best spikes ever were “Hope Sweeneys” - hand made kangaroo hide. So light they could balance on the spikes only. Guaranteed to find a metre.

They don’t make them like they use to…

Naw t he addistar are pretty light and rigid

How do you like the adistar? I am thinking about buying them. I read that they weigh 5.8 ounces.

Their pretty nice a lil wierd at first, but honestly i’m still a fan of the nike monster fly’s. But i would recomend the adistars. But you should try them out for yourself before purchesing them though.

Nike Monster Fly… now those look really weird…
