I have only recently discovered the name of Dix’s coach, and it’s former FSU coach Terry Long. I have googled him in an effort to try and find some information, but have struggled a little. I searched the forum, but it kept finding people called Terry who have been in long jump competitions! Ha!
I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about this guy and his methods?
I heard that Dix had a coach separate from the rest of the FSU squad, who I was aware were coached by Harnden, but I did not hear the guy’s name, Terry Long, until today. I’d be interested to know what Long’s doing with him if anyone knows??
Thanks for the feedback Charlie and Austin, look forward to seeing what you can find out. Charlie, do you know anything of the philosophy he used to coach Chandra?
i would guess that they do l-s becuse Dix ran some impressive 400m splits during indoors this season.
i also think i remember Dix saying in an interview on flotrack during indoor that he was working on his 400m time and doing more endurence work.
Dix ran 45.x splits and some low 46s
Terry Long was the head coach at FSU (unless it’s junior?) before Braman but I don’t believe he coaches Dix. I think some reporter has possibly crossed up some new and old facts.
As others above have suggested-I think it’s Ken Harnden.
Edit:So now looking at all of the responses above, the former head coach is actually Dix’s coach?
I remember seeing that the entire coaching staff at FSU was recently re-signed. There was said to be a concern that Arkansas might come knocking for Braman and assistant coaches.
