Tempo on Wet Grass... What Shoes?

I’ve been using regular runners and I tend to slip quite a bit. Anybody use spikes, soccer cleats or trail runners for improved traction??

not very often i use joggers when doing track work tempo, distance spikes are the key

in a park, i will use joggers, if its raining, i will try to go to the gym and use the treadmill. Many options.

I need a stability type shoe, so I run in a trail shoe which takes the slip out of my tempo days. I don’t want to be doing 2000 meters in a cleat.

I’ve used moulded adidas ‘Copa Mundial’ soccer boots.

Very light, close fitting ang great grip

You use distance spikes for tempo on grass?

soccer shoes with #9 cleat.

ciao

for sure! why not?
they got support, light and are soft almost like joggers, and have spikes for grip. or middle distance spikes too.

I think I might grab a pair of these:

you’ll wonder how you ever did tempo without them…

Just use and old pair of sprint/MD spikes and put some 9mm or 12mm studs in. Thats what I did and my tempo never suffered.

I just did a tempo workout in my track spikes for the first time and I liked the feel. A hell of a lot more grip than runners. I still might get those Nike Kennedy cross country spikes for some extra padding. Cheers,
