Stide Frequency > 5/second?

I was having a look at the stride frequencies of Walter Dix (9.93 NCAA and 10.09 US TFC), and Trindon Holiday (10.07 US TFC).

They appeared to have averaged around 5 steps per second for those races (hard to get good figures due to low video quality from what I was looking at) - and it looked to me like Holiday took almost 51 steps in 10.07, which is higher than T. Montgomery’s 9.78 frequency (especially when you factor in his reaction time).

Does anyone know of any other elite sprinters who have averaged over 5 steps/second for a 100m?

Andre Cason?

I have one less step for Holliday can you verify?

Many have come close to 5hz or may have done it in slower races : Cason, Dix, Sanford, Frater brothers, Glance, Padget, Nemeth, Pavlakakis…

His first step is with his left foot. The last foot that touches down before he crosses the line is his right foot, so he has taken an even number of steps until this point (50).

Looking at it again, it is less than half a step, so maybe 50.3 or 50.4 steps total - which puts him right around 2.5Hz (I’m using 2 steps for 1 Hz here due the math/physics background).
