Is it ok to squat straight after speed work or do any type of weight training after speed work. I have heard that John Smith’s group do squats after a track session but I have also heard that doing this can have a negative affect on the body
hassan there have been plenty of comments on this, have a search of the strength posts. To summarise though, weights post sprinting may result in slightly weaker strength, but the benefits are, the warm up can be much shorter, and weights done on the same day as sprinting allow for more rest/tempo days and hence recovery for the next sprint session.
