Charlie did the method of sports massage vary on days where speedwork was performed compared to days where tempo was performed. I know that pre event massage would be somewhat the same before all practices. Which might incorporate joslling (sp) chopping, stretching, and other pre event methods to increase blood flow.
So my question is:
Would there be any difference in the type of post event massage that is received on a day where hard speed work is done to a day where only tempo is done. Would there be a longer wait before being treated, a more conservative type of massage done, ect. What are your thoughts on performing a regular sports massage immediately after workouts? Doc mentioned to me this can be dangerous due to the muscles still being warm. What do you think. Could you expand on this.
