splitting up weights/sprints

I know that sprints and weights should be done on the same day since they’re both hard on the cns… but what is best way to split them up? should they be done right after the other ie a srint/weight session combined, or done at different times during the day?

i know there are pros and cons of both, but i wanted to know what you guys think…

I split then up with all sports conditioning (team sport athletes).
We run at the track from 8:30 am to 11:00 am, then lift from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
I always train speed first as it is the most important quality. The athletes go home eat, sleep and come back at 4:30 to lift.
