Why would people do it if it didn’t affect their times or results?

Yes, complete rest.

This is actullay something I just played around with after hearing chaelie mentioning it. I dont think I was really implementing it correctly nor consisently to be able to give you a reason and answer if it works. Perhaps the man himself and others can comment on the strength endurance.
