Will probably see you there.
yeh that 100m record he got is a rip-up. Crazy stuff. It’d be interesting to see if you can get that knee healed over winter (is surgery required?) and let him out at a 100% next season. Geez, he could very well break mark kedell’s nat ss champs record in the 100 (10.88) and he’d still have another year (or 2?) to go, and that record is mean enuf as it is already.
That is his goal over the next two years. He has been told by NZ Athletics to target the World Youth Games in 2009, for which the qualifying mark will be around 10.8. If he can get to that, then the NZ SS junior record will be achievable. I think next year will be a key year for him to guage his ability, because it is highly dependent on his physical development. Coaching will also become a major issue, as, so far, he has basically been going on natural ability. However, now that alone may not be enough and he needs someone to take him to the next level. Lets see how things happen. Not looking too far ahead.
Thanks for your comments anyway.
lol i can’t get over how young your son is, his times are so quick it seems unreal to think he can wait until the next world youths and still be easily young enuf to qualify.
