IIRC one of his workouts was 6x800 in 1.50-1.52 with 2 (two!) minutes recovery.
The guy is a machine!! Imagine some of his times done on todays performance tracks and shoes!
Just an opinion but if he had started his relay leg facing towards the track instead of out, Coe and the incoming runner (Steve Scutt?) would have been less likely to get tangled up and thus he would have had a faster leg. Seb could have had a much better initial acceleration without that since he stumbled for about 4-5m.
Coe had a 45.5 leg two years earlier at the European cup.
