Im coaching a 17yr old athlete who has been running for around 4yrs. His turnover is really good and his strength has improved over the years. However while his acceleration has improved his top speed hasnt come along.
His hips are still low and while I have tried a few things, with mental imagery, watching tapes, staying tall in drills I cant really come up with anything else to help.
I am sure he would do a big jump in performance with a few cm taller in the hips, we ahve a good 6 months to work on this.
He has just come out of the GPP hill type work and is moving into the next spp phase.
any ideas would be appreciated.
