Rest periods/intensity during HILL WORK

im in the process of designing my spp programs and if u look at cf 12 spp program most people will think the vol is too high, but take a deeper look most of the runs ur only acc out 20, 30, 40m etc so its really not as bad.

agreed but as we said before everyones different but such a programme is tolerable to most levels

one thing that tends to get to me is the tempo, i dont know if i just cant handle it or i just hate it. lol. week 1 i did 1400m, week 2 1700, week 3 2200, week 4 tue no tempo and thur i may drop it back down to 1500.

tempo i used to hate…now that i think back the prob was my fitness was bad but tempo is a must and i have 100% confidence in it.don’t forget rome wasn’t built ina day and a solid base is the best base to work on.

anything over 100m tempo runs for me would end up killing me so i stayed with the distance.i don’t know whether it was the distance but anything over 100m killed me…mind over matter i don’t know

what kind of volume u stuck with in each tempo session?

lets take this discussion to the livechat!..lets all make use of this great facility.

Because with all the throws and jumps they can’t handle the extra volume. They are not full time athletes. Always better to undertrain than to overtrain! Also stressing one thing more than others is in my opinion a bad idea. Obviously i would prefer CF’s volumes but that won’t happen until they turn pro!

tc can you empty some of your mail in your PM.tried mailing you back

i would say 1 off two things.

  1. like just stated. doing tempo too fast, it sure happens, they feel keen, light on their feet and they could run all day. You need to slow em down.
  2. they have a muscle imbalance of some kind? something is too tight, strong or weak??

< the rest times if they are going too fast
