Resisted in place running

I was just looking at Tom Green’s training posted in the planning and preiodization section, I almost forgot this one existed when I saw he does in place running in sand. But to go one better, what do you guys think of resisted in place running (the athlete is attached to rubber bands to the floor - the bands are attached centrally a few meters behind him). Does anyone have any experiences or opinions about this? It sure looked cool when I once saw it done, but what are the possible benefits, is it really that good of a technical drill? (would that even be the correct classification for this?).

Check out www.sprintsimulator.com Not too many people like this but it does work. I have seen scrubby sprinters turn into really good sprinters using this. Its great for cold weather or if a track is not available. you can email the guy who invented it john clarke.
