What does it mean when your skin gets really red(particularly lower legs after a run)? I;ve had shin splints for over a year…and I still do. We ran the mile today in PE and my lower legs got pretty damn red, and today somebody pointed that out to me. Nobody else had red legs but me. What does that mean?
Also, is there a website or anything I can refer to to find a good DEEP tissue massage therapist? I think it’s time I stop messing around and find somebody good. I feel I’m stuck in a perpetual nightmare. So yeah on a side note if anybody knows any good massage therapists in the NYC area(or anywhere somewhat by there) that’d be really appreciated as well.
Yeah but I didn’t even try at all and they got red, and nobody elses shins got red. I don’t know why I’m the only one who got real noticeable redness. Even those who tried their hardest didnt really get red
and what the hell are you saying tam?
I still need help finding an online locator or something for deep massage therapists. I need somebody good. I can do the research by calling up if nobody will refer me to anybody, but I need a way to find the massage therapists! I wasnt sure if ART.com’s provider locator would be useful, because im looking for deep massage, not ART.

im saying its a good thing your legs are turning red, it means you are running soo fast that your legs are catching on fire. You should try some baby oil, its seems to work for me.
It could of been a number of things. Did you warm up properly? If you didnt the sudden rush of blood would have caused redness from dramatically increased blood flow over a short time period.
As you mentioned you do have problems with the musculature in your calves so the only thing I can think of is that theres restricted bloodflow at rest, and then when you start to work out the increased bloodflow causes an obvious color change in the tissue from the rapid rush of blood. I wouldn’t worry about it so long as there isn’t pain. If there’s pain then your looking at extensive recovery with EMS, ice, contrast baths, epsom salts, etc.
