Questions

Had my appointment with the surgeon about my shoulder and he’s making me get the ganglion drained by needle and won’t belive the labrum is torn even though the MRI shows it is? He says even if it is he thinks the ganglion is causing the pain and impingement and therefore is the only thing that needs to be taken care of. If it dosen’t work he’ll get me to have a MR anthrogram on the shoulder and then probally have surgery from there. That will take time I do not have.

A few Questions:

He says an injury won’t affect your performance unless it is actually painful. Is it true unless you get pain/discomfort you won’t be hindered in any way what so ever (is functioning still completely fine)?

Does the labrum heal itself (from a tear) over time?

Will I be fine and capable of my best physical performance with only draining the ganglion and not doing anything about the labrum tear (as long as there is no pain)?

Whats the deal with scar tissue? Do you have to get rid of it all or only the tissue thats affecting normal functioning ability?

does anyone have any answers?
