Problem after 120 m

First of all, I want to say hello! to everybody because this is my first message on this forum.

I train athletism in Spain -this is the reason of my poor english-, and principally 400m. My PB is 48"95 -last year-, 22"40. Well I made a 21"8 - 33"7 in the first 200-300 of a 400 meters. I’m 23 (1980).

I have read most of the topics, and I didn’t know exactly how to put this one, but I thing this is the correct place…

During the last 7 months I have some problems when I make some series -or competition- at 95-100%. I can’t resist more than 120m (and normally in 200m, I feel down at 180; in 400m at 300), and when I end I feel not as tired as other years -but the times aren’t so good-. I had had a early stage -I don’t know if it’s correct…- of pneumonia at march, but all is good at the blood tests and my weariness comes before this early stage of pneumonia. My training isn’t diferent and nothing have changed (well, my nutrition is better…).

Well, I think it sounds strange, but… If someone have any idea of what could be, have passed for something similar… whatever info will be helpful.

Thanks!

You need a complete medical exam to ensure you truly are completely recovered from the pneumonia and to find out if there is any other underlying illness that you havn’t recovered from. sometimes the continuation of very hard training can prolong an illness and delay recovery.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the response. I already have made some blood test for that -I’m waiting for the results of the last one- and theorically the results are fine. Well, I have a low hematocrit (41%), and in general low of everything. But it seems to be something difficult to detect. Medical services seems to be disconcerted, but maybe it’s a bad recuperation as you said. I have posted it also to know if someone have had something similar.

Thanks again.

PD: when finally meets what’s happend, I’ll post it… if anyone have the same symthoms maybe it’ld help…
